Wondering why you battle with frequent yeast infections, urinary tract infections, and bacterial vaginosis? These 3 things could be the reason why:

1. Sex with multiple partners.

It increases risk for not only STI’s & STD’s, but can also significantly alter your body’s ph and lead to the other infections like BV and yeast. Both which can be hard to treat sometimes. Remember ladies, each time you have sex with someone whether you realize it or not, you’re taking a little part of them with you so be very careful, guard your heart and use condoms.

2. Oral sex without your partner cleaning his or her mouth first.

(This really can go both ways), but the mouth is one of the dirtiest areas of the body, it’s a straight up germ factory. The germs from your partner’s mouth can alter your body’s pH level and cause different infections, in some cases a woman can actually get an allergic reaction from oral sex if her partner has ingested something she’s allergic to. If you’re going to explore one another orally, it’s best to brush and use a safe mouth rinse first.

3. Back to front sex.

Ummm... don’t do it. It’s the same concept as when we use the restroom or change a little girls diaper, you always go from front to back. Why is that? Because when you start off with penetration or oral sex from the rectal area you could potentially be introducing fecal matter into the vagina which could then lead to... you guessed it, infections like BV, UTI’s and other things.

So those are three things that you may not have thought about when it comes to yours or your partner’s vaginal health. If you take nothing else with you from this article just remember, when it comes to sex and a happy healthy vagina, try to keep it clean as possible :)
